the little details

care + faq.

A few things worth knowing about your pieces, from looking after them to how I make them.

looking after your pieces.

can I put my ceramics in the dishwasher?

Yes, although I recommend hand washing where possible. Warm water, a little dishwashing liquid and a soft cloth are all you need.

are they microwave safe?

My everyday ceramics are generally microwave safe unless stated otherwise in the product description. Avoid prolonged heating, and take care when removing a piece as it may become hot.

can they go in the oven?

I don't recommend using my ceramics in the oven. Sudden changes in temperature can cause ceramics to crack, so it's best to avoid moving pieces between extreme temperatures.

why does my piece look slightly different?

Every piece is thrown by me on the wheel, so there will naturally be small differences in shape, size and glaze. Even pieces made together can come out of the kiln looking a little different.

I photograph each piece as accurately as I can, so you know what you're getting.

are your ceramics food safe?

Pieces intended for food and drink are made using food-safe materials and glazes. Any pieces intended for decorative use only will be clearly identified in their product descriptions.

a few other things.

are all pieces made to order?

Not always! Some pieces are already made and ready to ship, while others are available to pre-order. You'll find this information on each product page.

do you take custom orders?

Sometimes! I take on a small number of commissions depending on what I'm currently making and how much time I have available.

If there's something you have in mind, you're welcome to get in touch and we can chat about it.

will sold-out pieces come back?

Some will, and others might not. I tend to return to shapes and glazes I love, but I also enjoy trying new things.

If there's a piece you've had your eye on, feel free to ask whether I plan on making it again.

when will you have more pieces available?

I make everything in small batches, so I don't have a set restock schedule.

I'll share upcoming pieces and new releases on Instagram and through the Maree List.
